A Picture of the Biblical Narrative

Seems some people keen on visualizing the narrative intersections of the Bible have linked all the different cross-refrences, metaphors, images, and stories together in a biblical mosaic of color.

Biblical Narrative Art

The alternating grey and white at the bottom are the different books of the Bible, and the colored arcs connecting them are all the different narrative strands.

Cool!

[Addition (same day, in the PM): For those of you who want to know the who? how? and why? concerning this I did not originally include it because Andrew Sullivan's blog, The Daily Dish (from which I scooped the picture), had pushed the entry down so far that the link was broken.   But alas, I have found the original source!  The artists are Chris Harrison and Christoph Romhild.  Collaborating Christoph's cross-references with Chris's visualization skills, the two created the picture above.  You may find a wealth of information on the picture at Visualizing the Bible, Chris's page dedicated to the project.]

Who were the folks who did this? You don't have any links to the group or the photo. Would love to see it in higher resolution, it is quite amazing.

Hey, I might be interested in featuring this at CCblogs, but I need to know more about it. Where does it come from? What method was used to create it? That kind of stuff. Can you give us some more info? (mind email me?)

this is awesome

I saw this on Sullivan's blog, and just loved it. I have a bit of an art background, and I think it shows a lot of creativity. Did they have a program, or did they just do a lot of homework for this?

Cheers.
