Did You say Isaiah or Messiah?

It appears that with the increased flux of foreign born priests into the United States, the dialect and pronounciation of many Catholic priests in the States is not understood by the average American.  Parishoners have not been able to understand the words spoken during their priest's homilies.  NPR did a feature on the phenomena this morning, with one priest asking a language specialist how to better pronounce the word ''God'' (he was saying Gah-t).

It reminded me of the ancedote from Angela's Ashes, that the young boy  thought the priest was saying ''In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Toast.''

Do any of you have some funny mishaps to share?
